New Electronic Preferential Certificate of Origin (ePCO)
ePCO Standard Module: Application and approval of Preferential Certificates of Origin at its simplest
ePCO is a web-based Preferential Certificate of Origin application and approval system. Manufacturers / Exporters who need certification of the country of origin for a particular product can use ePCO to obtain the Preferential Certificate of Origin in the form of an official online document. This document is sufficient to satisfy the Customs, trade requirements and even to be used as a supporting document for other corresponding Preferential Certificate of Origin.
With ePCO, even approving bodies [e.g: Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI)] will benefit from the system. Applications can be processed and approvals can be given electronically. Saving time, operational costs and hassle for both parties!
Schemes available under ePCO include:
o ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand FTA (AANZFTA)
o ASEAN-India FTA (AIFTA)
o Malaysia-New Zealand FTA (MNZFTA)
o ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership (AJCEP)
o Malaysia-Pakistan Closer Economic Partnership Agreement (MPCEPA)
o Malaysia Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (MJEPA)
o ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA)
o ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreement (AKFTA)
o ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA)
o Generalised System of Preferences (GSP)
o Textile (TEXTILE)
ePCO’s Manufacturer Module: Simplifying CO processes for manufacturers
The ePCO Manufacturer Module is designed to enable the completion of Cost Analysis (CA) and Preferential Certificate of Origin (CO) application processes by all parties involved, without revealing information that are confidential to each other. With this module, a manufacturer can now submit their CA to MITI, then assign the approved CA in their preferred exporter, without exposing their confidential raw material details to the exporter. This means enhanced confidentiality at greater application convenience!
